I want to mke sure you get off to a great start, and one of the best ways is by providing you information on what kinds of technology we use. Like many other art schools, AVT has been an Apple computing facility for many years. Apple computers have traditionally been the tool of choice among artists, providing a platform of creativity long before any other company even thought about their needs. It has never left the consciousness of artists that Apple computers are as much the tool of choice for digital artists as the easel and paint brush are the tools of painters.
With that in mind, it is the recommendation of the technical director and faculty that you purchase an Apple MacBook Pro for your AVT studies and beyond. AVT has been working with Apple computer and the Patriot Computer store to bring you the best value you can find anywhere else for the MacBook Pro. Included with your purchase is software already imaged onto the hard disk, as well as a three year Apple Care warranty. This software includes Adobe's Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, and Microsoft Office Suite. These two software titles are integral to working in the AVT classrooms, as well as working professionally. You will be using these softwares well after your studies are finished.
The Apple Care warranty covers your Apple computer against all repairs other than catastrophic damages.
