Robbie Namy is originally from upstate New York but began traveling while still in college, organizing her own junior year abroad, while working “au pair” in a French family and studying art at “L’Ecole du Camondo” in Paris. After graduating from Cornell University, she taught illustration and design in a Venezuelan Art School, run by the Fondacíon Neumann. At the same time, she worked as an assistant art director for Young & Rubicam de Venezuela, in Caracas.

Robbie set out for Paris again for another six years, working in advertising at Dupuy-Compton Associés, a division of Comptons, New York, and at a small design studio with a Swiss trained art director. Returning home and settling into the Washington, DC area with her French husband and 3 children, she pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree degree at the George Washington University, with a major in visual communications.

In 1995 she founded Circle Studio Inc. a design studio specializing in both print and web design, located in the Ford Building of Old Town Fairfax.

In her spare time, Robbie loves to paint. Her oils are regularly exhibited at the Millwood Gallery in Millwood, Virginia, sponsored twice a year by the Berryville–Clark County Chamber of Commerce. A painting she did of the 2004 Kentucky Derby was auctioned by PRS, Inc., a non-profit organization, at their annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser. The painting was featured in the invitation and program for the event, and as a series of limited edition prints.
