Professional Activities:
Jandos Rothstein is a graphic artist with more than 20 years experience specializing in editorial and publication design. As art director of the Washington City Paper, his work was recognized more than 50 times by Print Magazine, The Society for News Design, The Art Director's Club of Metropolitan Washington, the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies, American Illustration, SILA, and other organizations. He has done redesigns of several magazines and newspapers including The Washington Monthly, The Washington City Paper, The Times chain of newspapers (Illinois), The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, Today's Traveler, and others.

He is a Contributing Writer for the Washington City Paper, and a frequent contributor to Design Journal, writing on photography, typography, graphic design, and issues particular to newspaper design. He also writes occasionally on social issues. He is currently a design consultant to The Washington Monthly, The Washington City Paper, and the International Child Art Foundation.

Rothstein has taught at Marymount University, The Art Institute of Washington, Triton College, and Northwestern University, where he received an Assistantship. He has conducted seminars for The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies and The Associated Collegiate Press.
